Preparing Your Donation

Donations pass through many hands during the drop-off process, from the teens who help at the vehicles to the agency workers who deliver the donations to the parents. To ensure that this whole chain works smoothly, the following points are necessary:

  • Gifts must be in opaque plastic bags. We had experimented with clear plastic bags, but this created problems for parents when they were receiving the gifts.
  • Tags must be clear and easily read by volunteers who are trying to move quickly.
  • Tags must include the child’s first name and the ID number assigned. Both these pieces of information are crucial as we check gifts in and out.
  • Tags must be secured along all four side in a way that does not cover the name or ID number. (Nothing causes as much stress as a lost tag.)

Thank you for your care and support!
